About the game
A multiplayer 3D sumo game for Android where two to four players push each other out of the ring in short, chaotic bouts, with computer opponents to practice against.
Problem
The goal was a quick, easy-to-learn multiplayer party game for Android phones, with synchronized rounds between players.
Solution
Built Mini Sumo with React Three Fiber and TypeScript, using Colyseus on Node.js for private rooms, a synced 3-2-1 countdown, bouts and results, and packaged it for Android with Capacitor and GitHub Actions.

Lessons Learned
Keeping every client in sync during short, fast bouts showed how much of a multiplayer game's feel comes from the networking layer and not only from the visuals.
